    Mobile business

For the last few weeks I have been doing some research on the mobile business opportunities. I haven`t been looking for statistics or analysis of the market as much as opportunities for home based business, other than what I already do. Still, numbers are very interesting, speaking clearly for themselves. And of course, reality must not be overlooked.

Back in 2011, there was 1.8 billion smart phone users and around 91% of mobile internet traffic was about social media, comparing to 79% when it comes to desktop. It was also predicted that mobile usage are going to outgrow desktop usage within few years, at least when it comes to e-commerce.

    More Apps Than Ever

And, that is exactly what happened. Last year (2014), mobile e-commerce actually did pass by it`s desktop equivalent. People started shopping on their mobile phones like never before. According to ZenithOptimedia mobile marketing grew six times faster than desktop marketing. Nevertheless, the growth was biggest in South America and Asia, at rate of about 22% per year.

Also, it has been an drastic increase of app choices as well. As you probably know, there are two leading app stores on the internet; Google Play and App-store. Google Play reached a number of 1 million app`s available back in may 2013, which is the increase of 43% from October 2012. This is enormous increase in such short period of time. App-store had the same increase but it reached the 1 million mark in October same year.

Most of businesses in the world, big or small, has been doing everything in their power to flow with and use the expanding mobile market. That is good to know, but I did all this research to find the answer to one specific question; What does all this info mean to business-minded individuals like you and me? Is there any opportunity available to use this incredible development and growth in mobile business market?

    How to Start Business Online?

I am an online entrepreneur, that is how I make living, so I need to stay informed. I need to know my business but, no information matters unless it leads to action and concrete opportunity. If it does not give me anything I can use to build the solid business, than I don`t have much use of it. After all, I look for business opportunities, not theoretical information.

    Get your app

    Get your app

So far, I found such opportunity with Shopping Nation. So, if you have been wondering about how to start business online, this is the only answer I can give to you at this point. Well, at least when it comes to the mobile market. Although it is not the only one doing it this way, this company has chosen an interesting business model by which it pays it`s licensed distributors to share it`s app for free.

Klick on the banner and get your app! It`s FREE

The app in itself is really a great and powerful product. It is actually the search engine, created to do one thing only; to find you the best deal for whatever you are looking for to buy online. In this short period of time since I have started working with it, this business has been a pleasant surprise.

From the beginning, I did not expect much from it knowing that every business takes time to develop. But it did well and expanded beyond my expectations. You can read my FULL REVIEW of it, HERE. It is the only good opportunity I could find so far. On the other hand, one good opportunity is all we need in order to reach financial independence.

Nevertheless, the search goes on. And it is done not only by me but a number of my colleagues with whom I work with, as well. Of course, I will notify my readers as soon as we find anything else of value.

I appreciate all comments so, drop me one below!

        Hi Igor!

Wow – those figures you gave are incredible!
The growth of mobile phone use (and purchases) is absolutely huge. I new it was expanding like crazy but had no idea it was growing at that fast a pace.

I’ll have to look into the “Shopping Sherlock” you mention – sounds intriguing. I’m going to head over and read your review on it.

I’m sure there will be more ways to earn money with a smart phone as time goes forward. Companies are always searching for better and more profitable ways to market their goods – I’m guessing mobile marketing will be one of their options and if the numbers you mention are correct, it will certainly open the doors to some good money being made by affiliates.

Thanks Igor – I enjoyed that!

          Hello Joanne!

Yes, I was amazed too when I found out that it is developing this way.Everybody targets a mobile market now and I guess it will be some other possibilities in the field as well.

Nevertheless, Shopping Sherlock is great opportunity and it`s already here. I have been working with it for a few months now and it is going better than I thought. If you have any questions about it, just let me know!

          Thanks for the comment!

      2. Erik, Fishing Kayak Resource Founder says:

So I know that mobile phone usage is increasing, but I had no clue how large the increase has been! And I would expect large growth in Asia, but South America was a surprise to me. In terms of online business opportunity, are the opportunities really viable and profitable? I know you mentioned Shopping Sherlock, how exactly does it work? It sounds like a browser to shop through, how would that make me money?

        • Igor.P says:

          Hello Erik!

Shopping Sherlock pays you to distribute the app and then it pays you the commission according how much your registered users us the app, month after month. I explained that in detail in my review of it. And, it is only one way of making money with it. There are others as well. 3 months since I started and my earnings are impressive.

I suggest you contact me for more info.

        Hey Igor,

Great article. I’m involved in ecommerce a bit myself so this was real intriguing to know it was ever larger in the mobile version than desktop. Everything is growing towards mobile now and I think it’s only a matter of time before computers are like the dinosaurs. Shopping Sherlock is quite interesting too, i’m going to look into it more

        • Igor.P says:

I did my best to present it as it is. Take a look at it, and if you need anything more, just let me know.

          Thanks for the comment!

        Hello Igor,

I enjoyed reading all of the stats that you’ve posted about how mobile business has increased. I am just astonished at how rapidly the mobile market has grown. I really find my phone to be my main device for doing just about everything online, whether it be researching something, buying something or just for entertainment.

Thanks for sharing some information about Shopping Sherlock. I’m going to check that out in your review page.

        • Igor.P says:

Yes, those stats are quite interesting. Everything goes mobile now. SS is a great opportunity, check it out and let me know if you need anything more.

          I appreciate the comment!

      5. Emmanuel says:

Hi Igor, it is becoming evident that the desktop is bound to go extinct with the rate at which the mobile market is flooding. Why do you think windows bought Nokia? They evidently saw that the market was geared towards mobiles. But Shop Sherlock has beaten google to it. It gives you a better chance of getting a better price for whatever you want to buy online.

        • Igor.P says:

Yes, you are absolutely right. Many companies see this trend and are obviously quick to catch it. SS came with the great product/service in the right time that`s why it`s growing so fast. Still, I don`t think that desktop will vanish, it will always be there, more or less. I use my SS on desktop most of the time.

Thanks for the comment! Best of luck!

      6. Neil says:

Mobile has taken over the world by storm and I’ve heard that there’s now more mobile phones than there are people. That’s Incredible!

This is a great article and it just proves that there’s real opportunity to make money online through mobile devices :)

Shopping Sherlock surely sounds interesting and will follow your recommendation.

        • Igor.P says:

Hello Neil! You are absolutely right, it has taken over the world by storm. Well, if you need any assistance with it, just let me know.

          Thanks for the comment!

      7. Chris says:

        Hey Great post,

In regards to your post though, I was a little confused. How exactly is someone running a business through mobile capability? Are they designing apps, buying and re-selling on the sherlock app, or is it starting a website and then running your website through an app?

I probably missed something but the idea sounds great and I’d be interested in knowing more.

        • Igor.P says:

          Hello Chris!

          Yes, you missed the link to the review of the actual business available in this branch. It happens, no problem. Still, this article is also important in order to understand the market conditions in which this business operates. I made the link more visible now and it is at the end of the article. Just in case I am sending it here again;

Don`t forget that you can always contact me if you want to know more about it. I`ll be happy to help.

      8. Mark Walush says:

I have not thought about the mobile side of my business too much before reading it, and apps had not even crossed my mind. I am definitely going to have to look into this Shopping Sherlock thing, it seems like a really great way to get consumers the best deal. With the new mobile age, this type of business model may become the future of shopping.

        • Igor.P says:

          Hello Mark!

It was so for me too, I never thought of it myself, until it was presented to me and it did make a lot of sense. Shopping Sherlock is amazing business opportunity, easy to overlook and pass by if you don`t take a close look. Yes, it is most likely the future of shopping.

          Thanks for the comment!

      9. Lb says:

That really sounds logical that mobile apps is the way to go in todays marketing world.

Everyone I know does everything you can think of on their smartphones. From banking and shopping to ordering pizza.

It’s just getting much easier to do so now days, as all you have to do it talk to your phone and it will find whatever it is your looking for.

It sounds to me like Shopping Sherlock would be the app to have if you wanted to start a mobile business.

        Thanks for the info.

        • Igor.P says:

Yes, you are right. It`s same here, everybody are just using mobile phones for online stuff and it`s only growing stronger by the day. And the technology behind it is developing in that direction. That`s the thing with Shopping Sherlock, so it`s not strange that it`s growing so rapidly. And, it provides such a great business opportunity for us.

          Thanks for the comment!

      10. Mark says:

Interesting post Igor and thanks for sharing.

Do you know where the revenue for Shopping Sherlock comes from? I’ve always wonder how free apps make money. Perhaps from the vendors, I just don’t see how the vendors would know how much revenue is steered towards them from the app.

But it works and you are getting paid so guess why question.

Thanks again for the post, Will probably give this a shot.

        • Igor.P says:

          Hi Mark!

Apps in general, free ones as paid ones, provide different benefits for users. Shopping Sherlock is very different from all others cause it provides service on the more fundamental level incorporating a whole market to find you the best deal. My experiences with it so far has been amazing. I don`t know how exactly they do that at this point, but recently I watched the interview with companie`s CEO Michael Wiedder, and he explained that they are working to incorporate the South American market at the present moment. This is definitely what I am going to ask him when I meet him on the next convention, cause I would need to know this too.

As you said yourself, it`s working very well, that is the most important thing right now.

Thanks for the comment and very interesting question! If you would like to know about the business itself, just let me know!

      11. Sylvia says:

        Hi Igor,

I am glad I stopped by your website and read your article.

I was always very hesitant toward mobil devices other than my PC and Laptop. I still have my cell phone only for calls and text.

However, I am also a business person and have decided to expand it for the mobile market as well, reading too lots of reviews about its potential.

I bought me a tablet and so far I do like it very much, browsing the app store and see what you can find and get.

One thing I like to know more about it. How can I create my own app for my business and how would I do that and what would be the costs?

Could you give me some advice and where I should go for my request?

        • Igor.P says:

          Hello Sylvia!

When it comes to app creation, that is the technical/technological part, not my area of expertise. I am expert in mobile marketing and work with existing businesses. But, it happens that I know where you can go to get help with creation of your app,- Fiverr!

Go to and search for app creation, you will get many results from people who do this kind of service.

Thanks for the comment and your question!

      12. IanW says:

        Hi Igor,

Your statistics are certainly an eye opener for me. Just te sheer volume and change in recent years is amazing. I guess this is why Google has become so focused on sites being mobile friendly.

I note that you are in Sweden which I find valuable from my perspective. Like me you are outside the USA. Which may answer my question – Does Shopping Sherlock work for those of us living outside the USA.

Thanks for drawing my attention to this differnet approach to building an online business. After I have finished here I will go and have a look at your full review of Shopping Sherlock.

        • Igor.P says:

          Hello Ian!

You are welcome to review all of it, and if you have any questions, just let me know. I am here to assist!

Yes, Shopping Sherlock is global application and it works well everywhere. But it will take us little more time to establish it in all countries. Especially from the business point of view, it doesn`t matter where you live. At this point the application is fully operational in 18 countries and the app is most useful for users in those. But, even in the countries where it`s not established yet, it can be successfully used. Users save a lot of money using it, distributors make a lot of money distributing it.

I hope the answer is enough to clarify things a bit. I will be happy to answer any other question you have and thanks for the comment!

        Hi Igor;

You share a lot of information here. Thanks! I am presently just starting out in online business. In fact, I am using one of your recommendations…Wealthy Affiliates.
I hadn’t considered a mobile app. Your review on Shopping Sherlock has certainly given me food for thought.
You also said that you aren’t too into motivational items. However, in your “small business motivation” page you actually have some great motivational advise.
I hope you don’t mind but I’m going to keep your “Three Simple Steps” available for me to read on a regular basis. I find them VERY motivational!
Thanks for the great info. You’ve been doing this since 2009 so I consider you a true authority. Keep up the great work!

      15. Dave Sweney says:

This was a short to the point article with a single focus. That helped me in that I was able to go right to the app that was the subject to check it out.

The concept is an interesting one, and I will be likely adding this app to my phone, it seems like a handy tool to have and easy to use.

Is this then an affiliate like porgram, where you refer people to the app and get paid commission on purchases they make through the app?

This was not clear to me, but I did notice that it is an invite only program which leads me to believe this is the case. I think promoting the app through social media and as you have done, posting an article, would work well.

What has been your experience to now with this app? Have you been able to monetize it to any degree and if so would you be willing to share your feelings in more detail? Thanks and look forward to your reply!

        • Igor.P says:

          Hello Dave!

Let me answer your questions, one at the time. The app itself is amazing. It really does save you money and time. This summer I saved $1100 on my trip to Greece so I leave it to you to conclude whether it`s worth having or not. Yes, it`s affiliate program but it is important to know that you don`t only make money on it when people use it to buy something. You get pay by the level of their activity which means that even if they only use it look for products, they generate the income for you.

The invite only means that you need to get the distributor code to get and use the app, but everybody is more than welcome to have it.

I have started this business recently and even from beginning I was surprised to see that usage commissions are very strong. The first month I gave away little more than 10 apps and it generated $4.25. In August I had around 250 users in my register, and since the commissions are payed the second month form the actual one, I will get the results in the middle of October. If you want, I will let you know how much it brought.

Promotion in social media did not give results from beginning cause I made mistake to start with the Facebook first. Facebook is worthless to do business of any kind. I found some other, really effective ways of sharing the app and, in 3-4 months, I plan to have 10 000 users.

I hope these details gave you little better understanding of the whole concept. We do regular presentations on skype and if you want to know more, just let me know!

Thank you for the comment and questions! All the best!

      16. Melody says:

There are some impressing figures here. I have known for quite some time that more and more people are accessing the internet and business opportunities through there mobile devices. I rarely use the computer to search the internet. Everything happens on my phone or tablet through an app.

It would definitely be wise for internet entrepreneurs to access this new market as well.

        Great article. Very informative. Thanks!

        • Igor.P says:

          Hello Melody!

I agree with you when you say it would be wise to access this market to do business. The possibilities are really great but it is up to everyone to decide for themselves.

          Thank you for the comment!

      17. Linda says:

        Hi Igor,

This is a great article about the growth of mobile phone usage and ecommerce on the phone. The numbers are astounding! Your mention of Shopping Sherlock sounds interesting, I must go read it!

Have you found any other mobile ecommerce facts that were this huge? Like what items were being purchased the most? I know myself personally, use my smartphone to order things all the time, so these numbers should not surprise me! You did a wonderful job bringing these facts to the public, and recommending Shopping Sherlock. I have bookmarked your site so I can return and check out your new found items from time to time.

        With Kind Regards,

        • Igor.P says:

          Hi Linda!

You are right, those numbers are amazing. Since I published those results I know that things grew even more and it is clear trend. Mobile e-commerce dominates the worlds market and this will not change. It was predicted that 65% of people in the world will have and use smartphone by the year 2020. We will see if this is going to happen. If you have more any questions, let me know and do not forget to check the new Sherlock review.

        • Igor.P says:

Mobile has already taken over everything and this is not likely to change. Sherlock is still young company so it is not strange that you have not heard of it. But this will change in nearest future. Go ahead take a look and let me know if it is anything more you wonder about.

All the best, and thanks for the comment!

I haven’t really looked into the mobile market much other than making my website mobile friendly. There is surely huge opportunity there as more and more people look to use mobile these days.

I’ll have to look into this Sherlock gig you are talking about and will be interested to hear what you make of it in the near future. Cheers

        • Igor.P says:

          Hello Tim!

Yes, mobile market segment has been a most fruitful business area for some time now and and it shows no signs of declining. I have already given detailed description of Sherlock business in progress in two part articles here on the website. Take a look at the first one, you have the link for the part two in it.

Call me old fashioned, but I like a larger viewing screen, and a normal sized keyboard and mouse. It’s for these reasons I’ll always prefer desktops. Especially while I’m working.

But in order to stay on top of the online business market, then one has to adapt. The figures you’ve posted are staggering! I wasn’t aware things were moving over to mobile so quickly! …What a wake up call.

        • Igor.P says:

          Hi Chris!

Maybe you are old fashioned but I am exactly the same, I also like the desktop. Yes, those figures are staggering and very interesting, so I got involved. Here in Sweden this growth has been incredible in 2015 – over 160%. It is all about using those trend for business, and I think it is worth considering.

          Thanks for the comment! Igor
